Genuine Selfless Appreciation

Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.  I resonate with this thought so much. There is so much difference in knowing what to do, how to do, and actually doing it. It takes doing and practice to fill the gap between knowing and being.

Knowing –> Being

What tis the gap between the knowing and being?

Wanting to be certain way, and actually becoming it?

For example, now I am working on my communication, to communicate clearly, concisely, and assertively. What does I take for me to actually communicate the way I want? Me practicing clear, concise, and assertive communication at each and every opportunity I communicate, until it becomes very natural and effortless to me.

Same goes with literally anything we want to learn, or make part of our living. Personally, I can talk about some of the following practices/passions: writing, reading, journaling, meditation, exercise, gratitude, and my newly emerging one gardening.

All these became part of my living and I reap joy and become alive especially when I am writing, meditating, and walking. I seem to become so focused, living in the moment, and joy seeping through me. As I walk, I seem to enjoy my walks so much more these days; leaving my phone at home, and totally soaking in the joys of nature, the gentle breeze, basking in sunshine, chirps of birds, looking at the vibrant colors of flowers, plants, trees.

As I started gardening, my new additional routine after my meditation has been watching the new sprouts emerge from the seeds we sowed, every little change in each of the plants, a new bud came, new bud is blooming. Few more leaves grew…this mint plant grew an inch taller, 1.5 inches wide…. These little changes are bringing so much joy. I guess more than the change, the attention I am bringing to these plants, that is bringing true joy. I talk to my plants as I am watering. I convey how much joy they are bringing me, and how we truly love them.

I can see how different it is from reading, listening someone talk about joys of gardening to actually experiencing it.

It is the practice and the experience that is the key to the treasures!! Bring your treasures alive by practicing and experiencing what you love to!! Whether it is cooking, painting, singing, playing, meditating, or exercising…practice more and reap the benefits of you bringing them to your life!!

Its true that in engaging in an activity and mastering at it, we do experience fantastic feelings, and also we do acquire great benefits out of it. In fact, all the tasks we do in our daily lives, offers us marvelous benefits like we experience the present moment through every task and in whatever it could be (Cooking, painting, gardening,exercise..!), it offers a wonderful opportunity for us to train the mind to be staying in the present with the process, we cultivate awareness and, in turn, discover calm, clarity and contentment. Thank You.
