Writing Butterfly : Journey From My Cocoon, was a journey in and of itself. It was an amazing and blissful five month journey.

It all started on the night of December 31st, 2012, when a notion to conceive the story of my life and share it with others suddenly gripped me and wouldn’t let go. While everyone else was ringing in the New Year with family and friends, I was compelled to meet this special night with memories past and the future hope of sharing them with the world. The moment that I began writing, I was overcome with meaningful reflection and esteem for the life I was living. Feelings of bliss and determination urged me forward — I could sense something wonderful on the horizon.

Within five months, Butterfly: Journey From My Cocoon, was in my hands. If you’ve ever had a child, you’ve known the wonders of taking part in creation. After having a child of my own, I have to say that holding my own book was the closest I’ve ever come to that feeling again!  But like everything else in life, Butterfly was not created alone. The months spent poring over my memories and bringing them to words. It was an experience shared with loving, caring and helpful people who encouraged, inspired and gave me all of the help I could ask for.

I was blessed with the invaluable support of a devoted and gifted editor, Jan Whalen. Jan’s unwavering enthusiasm and inspiration gave me the courage to push forward with my work and turn the story of my life into reality. My dear friends, and my sister-in-law, Vasavi, offered feedback, resources and advice that focused my creativity and highlighted my strengths as a writer and storyteller. In this way, Butterfly is the co-creation of passionate works of many beautiful hearts and minds brought together with love and divine guidance.

Writing Butterfly book gave me faith and assurance that were destined to be a part of me. Contending with the challenges of writing a book in English, which is not my native tongue, often gave me doubts of the value that my words could offer. Today, when my readers tell me what a beautiful and inspiring book I have created, I am more certain than ever that things are often a greater part passion, faith and harmony with others than anything else. For those who are ever weighed down by doubt or apprehension, remember that any purpose which makes your soul sing and your heart dance can never steer you wrong. Let your heart flow through you, and be an instrument of your dreams. All of the help you will ever need will be sent to you as you follow the path you were destined to lead. Rise above the uncertainty and make use of the resources you have, I promise that you will always be rewarded.

Thank you to all of those who helped make my dream, Butterfly: Journey From My Cocoon, a reality. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for all of the support and direction you have selflessly offered. Thank you so much.

With Great Love,
Aruna Chinta
