Yesterday in Jay Shetty’s meditation, he guided us to take our memory to our childhood, when we are about 9-year-old. He asked to think whatever we wanted to hear. I thought about these…as if my Dad is telling me,

I love you Aruna

You are important

You are an affectionate kid

I love you dearly

You are a very good listener

As I finished this, Keshav said, “Did Tata  (Grandpa) say,  I love you to you, Mom?” I said no, Tata didn’t say. However, this is not something I expected or parents were used to saying during those days. It was an implicit expression…

Keshav with a smile said, you remember Tata’s last words to me mom, “You are my favorite Grandson”

I am Tata’s favorite grandson

You raised Tata’s favorite grandson

So, you are very special

You are very dear to Tata….

These words by Keshav indeed are so very special to me. He pushed me to clouds. I was super-duper happy. Thanks to both Jay Shetty and Keshav for invoking these special feelings in me.

As I am reflecting on this, the following thoughts flowed in. We can always invoke whatever we want. We don’t have to wait to hear some words from someone. We can visualize and hear whatever we want to hear.  Similarly, we can imagine whatever we desire. Stronger the feelings we invoke, more love we give, we make the effects more real and powerful.

You are special. Indeed, very special. I want you to recall all the special moments you had. Times when someone made you feel very special. Don’t stop there. Write down all the things you want to hear from someone that makes you feel so special. Visualize someone saying those special words to you in the very special way you want to hear. Feel the love. Feel the love of, “You are Special!”
